New life as a Maternity Hospital: 1939-1955
In 1939, Llanfrechfa Grange was used as a maternity hospital for expectant mothers evacuated from London during the Second World War. Later its services were extended to residents of Monmouthshire.
During our exploration of the history of Llanfrechfa Grange a number of people have told us they were born there, or that they know of someone else who was born there. While there may be a register of births to uncover somewhere in the records we think it would be nice to dedicate this page to short cameos of people who were ‘Born at Llanfrechfa Grange’ told in their own words.
So…. if you were ‘Born at Llanfrechfa Grange’ or know of someone else who was born there, please get in touch and we will add a small feature on this page.
